FAQ

Thank you for working with Owatonna Granite & Monument.  Here are some of the frequently asked questions that arise after a purchase.

What do I do with the approval drawing I receive?

If your approval was mailed to you, please review the drawing carefully for spelling, dates, artwork.  If everything looks good, please sign one copy and return it to us.  The other copy is for you to keep for your records.  If you approval was emailed to you, please respond to the email in the same manner.  If any changes are needed, call or email us with those requests.

How will you know where to install at the cemetery?

When we receive notice that your memorial is being delivered to our showroom, we contact the cemetery.  It is the responsibility of the cemetery sexton to make the location.  We place the memorial according to their instructions.

3

Do I need to be present at the time of installation?

It is not necessary to be present at the time of installation.  Our installers are very experienced, they complete over 500 installations per year.  In fact, due to liability concerns, we request that you are not present.

4

How will I know when it is completed?

Once our office is informed by the installer that the memorial is in place, we will call you at the number we have on file.  If your contact information changes, please let us know.

5

I have a balance due, when and how do I pay that?

About 1 week after installation, an invoice will be mailed to you.  You may submit your final payment by check or call us with your credit card information.

6

Is there any maintenance needed for my memorial?

We recommend that you clean your memorial yearly if possible.  Like anything else that sits outside, over time your memorial will get dirty.  We recommend Windex and a plastic bristle brush.  Scrub away!

7

Is there a warranty on the foundation?

Concrete foundations are guaranteed for 1 year after installation for cracking and settling.  Granite foundations have a 1 year warranty for settling and lifetime against cracking.

8

If the date of death is needed to be engraved in the future, is that included in the original cost?

We are unable to prepay for future lettering.  The date of death is paid for at the time it is engraved.
