1. What types of monuments and headstones do you offer?

At Owatonna Granite and Monument, we offer a wide selection of granite and bronze memorials, including upright monuments, flat markers, slant markers, benches, and custom shapes. Each piece is crafted to meet cemetery regulations and designed to reflect your loved one’s legacy.
 

2. How long does it take to create and install a monument?

Most monuments are completed and installed within 2-5 months after design approval. Timelines can vary depending on the type of stone, custom artwork, and weather conditions at the cemetery. We can provide an estimated delivery time when the order is placed.
 

3. Can I design my own headstone?

Yes. We encourage families to personalize their memorials. You can choose from different granite colors, shapes, engravings, and imagery. Our design team in Owatonna will guide you through the process and provide a digital proof before production begins.
 

4. What is included in the price of a monument?

Our pricing typically includes the stone, engraving, design assistance, foundation, delivery, installation, cemetery fees and sales tax. Optional features such as custom etchings, ceramic photos, or unique stone shapes can be added at an additional cost.
 

5. What materials are best for Minnesota weather?

We recommend premium-grade granite, as it withstands Minnesota’s freeze-thaw cycles and maintains its beauty for generations. Bronze markers are also available and provide a timeless, low-maintenance option.
 

6. Do you handle installation and cemetery coordination?

Yes. Owatonna Granite and Monument handles all communication with the cemeteries.  We  deliver to all of our local cemeteries including Owatonna Memorial Gardens, Sacred Heart, St. John’s, and others in the surrounding area. We typically service a 50 mile radius and can also coordinate with our business affiliations to service a 5 state area.  We make sure your monument meets all requirements and is installed securely on a proper foundation.
 

7. Can you add names or dates to an existing monument?

Absolutely. We provide on-site engraving services throughout Southern Minnesota to add final dates, names, or design elements to existing stones. We carefully match the original font, depth, and finish to ensure a seamless appearance.
 

8. Do you create memorials for veterans or public spaces?

Yes. We proudly design and install veteran memorials, civic monuments, and plaques honoring those who have served our country and community. We can include military emblems, flags, or engraved artwork specific to your request.
 

9. How should I care for my monument?

To keep your monument looking its best, clean it with a spray window cleaner and a soft cloth or plastic brush. Avoid harsh chemicals or power washers. 
 

10. What are your payment options?

We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. Payment in full is not required at the time the order is placed. We can work with families to help with their specific budget.
